Safety on Wemwo
Wemwo is built to keep job search safe: we never ask for your personal ID number, address or date of birth, and we verify companies before showing their jobs. Still, scammers sometimes pretend to be employers – here is how to spot them.
Wemwo employers never ask you to
- pay for a job, training, a uniform, registration or a "deposit";
- share bank card details, Smart-ID, PIN or SMS codes, or passwords;
- send a photo of your passport or ID card in the chat;
- move to Telegram, WhatsApp or another app "to talk more easily";
- transfer money or pay in cryptocurrency.
If someone asks for any of this, it is almost certainly a scam. Stop the conversation and report it to us.
Warning signs
- Too good to be true: a very high salary for simple work with no requirements.
- Pressure: "reply within an hour", "only one place left".
- The employer avoids an interview or meeting but wants your data.
- Vague job descriptions such as "forwarding parcels" or "money transfers" in your name.
What Wemwo does
- We verify every company manually (name and company code against public registers) – only then can candidates see its jobs.
- Your phone number is visible to an employer only if you share it yourself.
- In the chat we warn you if an employer's message asks for payment, card or Smart-ID details, or invites you to another app.
- After several scam reports we hide the company's jobs immediately until we have checked everything.
How to report
- In the chat: menu (⋮) → "Report". You can also block the other person.
- By email: info@wemwo.com.
- If you have already been affected (e.g. you transferred money or shared codes), contact your bank and the police (112) immediately.
Official Wemwo channels
- We only send emails from @wemwo.com addresses.
- We do not send SMS messages with links and never ask for your password.
- Our website is wemwo.com only.
