Wemwo Privacy Policy

Effective from 26 September 2026.

This policy explains what personal data the Wemwo (we match work) app processes, why, who can see it and what your rights are.

1. Who processes your data

The data controller is Wemwo (self-employed activity, individual activity certificate No. 1523557), Lithuania.

2. What data we collect

Account data:

• email address, password (stored only in encrypted form, we cannot see it) or your Google account email if you sign in with Google;
• whether you are a candidate or an employer, confirmation that you are at least 16, acceptance of the terms (with date);
• time of last activity.

Candidate profile (filled in by you):

• first and last name, photo, short description;
• cities, work arrangement and employment type, desired positions and fields, expected salary;
• skills, languages, education, work experience, driving licence categories;
• when you can start, whether you are actively looking, companies you don't want to be shown to.

Employer data:

• company name, type, registration code or number, country, city, fields, website, description, logo, employee benefits;
• team members' email addresses and invitations;
• job ads.

When using the service:

• applications, answers to job questions, match score, employer decisions and rejection reasons;
• chat messages, meeting proposals (time, format, address or video link), interview ratings;
• reports ("Report") and blocks;
• jobs you skipped or applied for.

Technical data:

• push notification identifier and app language – to send notifications;
• crash reports (device model, operating system, error details) – to fix problems.

3. Why we use data and on what basis

• To provide the service (performance of a contract): account, profile, matching of jobs and candidates, applications, chats, meetings, notifications about application status.
• For safety and fair use (legitimate interest): company verification, handling reports, preventing abuse, blocking accounts.
• For service quality (legitimate interest): aggregated statistics, employer response rate, crash reports.
• Push notifications are sent only if you allow them in your phone settings; you can withdraw this at any time.

Automatic matching only sorts jobs and candidates – the "Match" or "Not a fit" decision is always made by the employer. If the employer doesn't reply within 7 days, an automatic reply is sent.

4. Who can see your data

• A candidate profile is visible only to companies (and their team members) whose jobs you applied for, and to the Wemwo administrator. It is not shown to hidden companies.
• Chat messages are visible only to the participants; the administrator sees them only when handling a report about that chat.
• A company's profile, its jobs and its response rate are visible to all signed-in users.

Processors we use:

• Google (Firebase: sign-in, database, file storage, server functions, notifications, crash reports). The database and server functions run in European Union data centres. Where Google processes data outside the EU, this is done under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
• Jitsi Meet (8x8) – only if you choose an automatic video link for a meeting; the call takes place on Jitsi under its own terms.

We do not sell data or use it for advertising.

5. How long we keep data

• We keep data while you have an account.
• When you delete your account, the candidate profile, photo, applications, chats and meetings are deleted. For an employer account, if the company has no members left, its jobs are closed, chats are ended and the company is marked as deleted.
• Google keeps crash reports for up to 90 days.
• Backups, if any, are deleted according to Google's service terms.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• access your data and receive a copy;
• correct inaccurate data (you can change most of it yourself in the app);
• delete your account and data (in the app: Profile → "Delete account");
• restrict processing or object to processing based on legitimate interest;
• receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise these rights, write to info@wemwo.com – we will reply within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (vdai.lrv.lt).

7. Age

Wemwo may only be used by people who are at least 16 years old.

8. Changes

We will notify you in the app about significant changes to this policy. The latest version is always available in the app and on the website.
